Want Some Really Bad Advice ?

Well here is it, do nothing ! Yup that’s it do absolutely nothing. In fact don’t even bother reading the rest of this blog. Or, continue reading it to find out why that is such bad advice. Are you still here? Good, we can crack on. Let’s face it most people don’t want some really bad advice, right ?

Why is doing nothing so bad advice?

So why is doing nothing such bad advice. Simply because if you do nothing nothing will change and chances are if you are reading this you want to change something. Most of us do. Einstein said: ‘ the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result’. The truth is that most of us are doing exactly that. We have busy lives and really we are doing nothing as we are doing the same things over and over and expecting things to change.

Want some better advice?

Do Something ! Yes that’s it just do something. Not just any old thing do something out of the ordinary. Do something out of your daily routine. Do something that excites you, something out of your comfort zone. This doesn’t have to be big it can be quite small like sitting in a different place, or reading a new book or talking to a stranger. The point is that if you want something to change you have to change something.  This doesn’t have to be big and scary. Start small and get into the habit of changing small things and stepping out of your comfort zone on a regular basis. Trust me before you know it things around you will change. Once you are on the new habit of changing things my experience with myself and my clients has shown me that things will start to pick up speed and it becomes a little addictive.

What happens next ?

Once you are in the habit of doing something and making changes the next step is to decide on what you really want to change. Get it crystal clear in your mind. Start thinking about what little steps you can take and make towards that change that you want to see. I know this sounds really simple and it is ! The mistake most people make getting overwhelmed by the bigger picture. When people decide they want to run a marathon they don’t do it all in one day. They simply start by taking a fews steps. Simple but powerful.
